Full form of LLB is Bachelor of Legislative Law or Legum Baccalaureus in Latin. After completing graduation, students can get LLB admission 2024 by passing entrance exams like the CLAT. To follow a career as a lawyer or any other profession involving the law, students must complete an LLB programme.

Merit-based LLB admission are done along with different LLB entrance tests, including the CLAT, AILET, LSAT, DUET, and others. Since IGNOU does not offer an LLB course as well as the Bar Council does not recognise legal degrees earned through distance learning, getting an LLB from IGNOU is not possible. Benefits After pursuing graduation in any field, a student is eligible to enrol in the 3 year LLB programme. The Bar Council of India, BIC, initially fixed the age limit of 30. However, it is currently 30-45 years. The candidate does not complete graduation separately for three years because the course is an integrated 5 year programme.When completed, they are entitled to BA.LLB graduates. The minimum age limit was initially 20, but it is now 22.

LLB admission is generally done through entrance exams. However, in some cases, some colleges also provide admission based on merit but in order to apply for any LLB course, a person must meet the eligibility criteria, which are mentioned below.

Based on Entrance Exam: All top law colleges, including Delhi University, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Symbiosis International, Osmania University, etc., conducts admission exams for their LLB courses, including CLAT, AILET, SET SLAT, LSAT, TS LAWCET, DU LLB, AP LAWCET, etc.

Based on Merit: Universities like Chaudhary Charan Singh University(CCSU), SRM University and a few others create their own cut off lists, and if a student scores in the required criteria, they are eligible for the LLB admission 2024.


LLB Admission Eligibility Criteria

The following points are of the LLB admission eligibility criteria.

  • 1. Students who want to get LLB admission 2024 should have at least 45 % marks in graduation and should also pass the entrance exam for LLB admission.
  • 2. SC or ST candidates are offered a 5% relaxation in their application.
  • 3. If you have already obtained a degree (in any field and from any course), you can simply pursue an LLB for 3 years by passing the entrance exams which are required.
  • 4. In India, there is no maximum age for LLB admission.

LLB Admission Documents Required

Before registering for the LLB admission aspirants must have the following documents.

  • 1. Mark sheets for classes 10th and 12th, graduation, and the admit card number of the board.
  • 2. Scanned copy of the candidate's photograph and signature in the required format
  • 3. Scanned copies of official ID proofs (such as an Aadhaar card, a Driver's licence, a PAN card, a Voter identity card, a Passport, or a College identity card)
  • 4. Valid caste certificate
  • 5. Certificate of disability (if candidate belongs to PwD category)
  • 6. Character certificate (should not be older than six months on the date of admission)
